Browse the shop, open a product, choose any variations and add it to your cart. At checkout you enter your delivery address and pay by card. You'll receive an order confirmation once payment is captured.
Made-to-order items go straight into production, so changes are only possible for a short window right after ordering. Contact the seller from your Orders page as soon as possible — once the maker has started, the order can no longer be changed.
Because goods are made to order and shipped directly from the maker, expect a short production window plus transit time. The estimated range is shown on each product and confirmed at checkout. Tracking details appear on your Orders page once the parcel is dispatched.
Cross-border parcels may be subject to import duties or taxes charged by your local customs authority. These are set by your country and are the buyer's responsibility unless the product listing says otherwise.
Each maker sets their own policy summary, which is shown on the product page and at checkout. Personalised and made-to-order items usually cannot be returned unless they arrive damaged or not as described.
Open the order from your Orders page and message the seller with a photo of the item and packaging. If you and the seller can't resolve it, contact Mercato support and we'll step in.
Checkout is handled by Stripe. You can pay by major debit and credit cards. All payment details are entered on Stripe's secure form — Mercato never stores your full card number.
Prices are shown in Canadian dollars (CAD). Your bank may apply its own conversion rate for a different billing currency.
Opening a store is free — there are no listing fees and no monthly subscription. Mercato charges a low transaction fee on completed sales, which is deducted automatically from your payout.
Payouts are made through your connected Stripe account on the platform's payout schedule. You can see your balance, transaction fees and expected payout on your Seller dashboard.
Send us a message and include your order number if it's about a purchase. We usually reply within one business day.
